Michael Boutet, MFT Associate

Michael Boutet is a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate at Very Unique Wellness. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Miami University (Oxford) in 2013 and his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University in 2024. Michael has completed specialized training in EMDR therapy and continues to expand his knowledge in trauma-informed care and risk assessment.
Michael works with individuals, couples, and families and has experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. He has worked with a diverse range of populations, including teens, families, and individuals within LGBTQI and multicultural communities.
Michael utilizes a person-centered, systemic approach to therapy, integrating evidence-based practices such as EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic techniques, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, grief counseling, psychoeducation, and cognitive reframing. He takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach and believes that meaningful change happens when clients feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout their wellness journey.
Michael is committed to creating a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences at their own pace while working toward growth, healing, and long-term stability. He meets clients where they are and tailors treatment to each individual’s unique needs, goals, and strengths.
Michael receives clinical supervision from Dale E. Bertram, Ph.D., LMFT-S, ensuring ethical, evidence-based, and high-quality care.
