Jorie Bird is thrilled to be joining Very Unique Wellness as a social work intern. Currently earning a Master’s in Social Work from Louisiana State University, Jorie looks forward to serving the community while gaining experience in a private practice setting. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Georgetown College and brings three years of experience in pediatric behavioral health.

Jorie has focused on trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and co-regulation while working with children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities and a range of mental health diagnoses. Through this work, she has developed a strong passion for supporting both individuals and families with empathy and understanding.

She is committed to fostering a compassionate and healing environment by building strong therapeutic alliances. Believing that every individual should feel valued and seen, Jorie hopes to empower clients through collaboration, connection, and meaningful support.

As an intern, Jorie receives clinical supervision from a LCSW at Louisiana State University and from her on site supervisor Vorā O. Blake, LPCC-S, C-DBT, C-PD, ensuring that she is providing the highest quality of care to her clients.
